Home

Hi everyone!
Thank you for all supporting our U19 WC team.
We are all home now and very tired but we had such an amazing experience. USA took the gold medal in a gripping battle against the Australians and Canada took the bronze from the English team an hour before. For Wales we succeeded in our expectations. We beat Scotland to take 5th place in the tournament and have moved Wales U19 up to Pool A in four years time. Which will give our successors more of a chance to bring home a medal for Wales. I'm proud of everything our team achieved and had a surreal but amazing experience. I can safely say the rest of the team had a relatively similar, fun experience to mine. Thanks again....

Wales Vs Australia

SORRY IT'S LATE!
So we have been extremely busy and are pretty tired so the blog has been left behind but we are back!
On the 10th we played Australia, our biggest game to date. We knew it was going to be much tougher than the Pool B games we have played previously but we wanted to come out and prove a point that Wales are better than assumed. Nerves were high and the crowd was buzzing, with the USA team running up and down the stands cheering us on. We had a good start but the speed of ball movement was something we had not experienced in the tournament and we struggled to slow it down. Safe to say, however, we did NOT give up! The score line was 20-6 to Australia but this definitely did not reflect how the game was played. We fought hard. There was disappointment but we have picked ourselves up and are looking forward to the last game of the tournament tomorrow.

Rest day and match v New Zealand

Monday was our rest day and so we all went our seperate ways and spent the day relaxing with our parents doing a range of activities from visiting the local zoo to having barbeques in the rain. Thanks to George's mum, we then enjoyed a session of pilates in the park which although fun was slightly painful as we were still all very stiff.

Tuesday was our final pool match against New Zealand and after a well needed rest, we came together to give our best team performance of the tournament so far, and despite letting in the first goal, we took control to win 22-1!!! A very big congratulations to George for winning MVP of the game. That evening we went to watch USA v Australia, a very exciting match that the Americans dominated which left us all extremely excited to take on the Aussies the next day.
